MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT-2013 Welcome, 2013 Canadian Golf and Country Club Members!
I would like to welcome everyone back for the upcoming season. Last year we had a great course, thanks to Mark and Gail Seabrook (owners) and the staff all the way from greens keeper to the chef . 2012 was a great year and we expect the same for 2013.
I hope we can encourage more members to come out for tournaments by putting more emphasis on “FUN” and more social interaction amongst members. We can achieve this by distinguishing between competitive tournaments and fun tournaments. Competitive tournaments we already have, such as Club Championships, Intersectionals, etc. I believe we need more “FUN” tournaments where the objective is to encourage more people to come out and play, enjoying a relaxed comraderie with less focus on scoring and more focus on fun.
We have a varied group of members ranging in age from young to old and I ask you all to come out and try our tournaments. We, as executive, will make every effort to make it a more enjoyable golfing experience.
Ken

MESSAGE FROM THE LADIES CLUB CAPTAIN-2013
Hi Ladies! Well, winter will soon be put away and time to enjoy some great spring golf. Welcome back ladies and welcome to our new lady members. We are excited about the upcoming season and look forward to renewing friendships…hopefully we’ll see some new faces this year starting with our Ladies spring meeting on May 2nd. To register to attend, please email me at LadiesCaptain@canadiangolfclub.com or sign up on the bulletin board at the club.
We invite members who haven’t ever golfed with us or previously golfed with us but haven’t golfed with us lately, to join Thursday morning Ladies, this year, both East and West Course Members. You will notice a few changes in the Tournament dates for Ladies. They will not all take place on Ladies Day, again in an attempt to encourage ALL Ladies to participate. For those who do not care for competition, you are still encouraged to sign up for events, just come out, join us, play and have fun and enjoy great weather and super golf course conditions at The Canadian.
I look forward to playing with you.

MESSAGE FROM THE SECRETARY/TREASURER-2013
Welcome to another great season of golf at the Canadian Golf & Country Club. I am your Secretary/Treasurer for the 2013 and 2014 season. I wish to give a special warm welcome to all current and new members.
One of my responsibilities is to administer the fund for Hole-in-One insurance. The list of paid up members is posted on the members’ notice board in the lounge. If your name does not appear on the list you are not insured, just in case that great shot happens for you. The cost is $2.00. NOTE: The $2.00 cost is collected annually, at the beginning of the year and after funds are reduced to warrant an increase due to the funds used up by a person(s) who are lucky to have had a hole-in-one. Be prepared!
Have a really great golf season in 2013.

MESSAGE FROM THE JUNIOR REPRESENTATIVE - 2013
Welcome to another great year here at the Canadian Golf & Country Club.
With longer days and warmer weather, the itch for golf is back. Unlike the hockey season, there will be no lockout here at the Canadian. If Mother Nature brings along another beautiful summer, we are in for another perfect year here at the Canadian. Hopefully the snow will be gone before we notice and we can get back out on the course with family and friends for another year at the Canadian. I’m excited to see what our current members have learned over the winter and looking forward to meeting our new young golfers out on the course.
With the help of staff and experienced members, we will educate junior golfers on key fundamentals like the rules and etiquette involved in the game of golf as well as persistence and patience.
I look forward to seeing everyone golfing and lounging at the Canadian.
Canadian G&CC Junior Representative

SENIOR REPRESENTATIVE REPORT- 2013 The Days are getting longer and it won’t be long till the Canadian opens up for the 2013 golf season. Many of you lucky seniors have already been playing golf through these colder months, and some still have trips planned, to hit our little white round friends. To those of you like me, who play in the snow (not golf), we are looking forward to the start of our local season. All activities for seniors that we have had in the past will once again be offered this year. So please check the member’s calendar to see their dates, and plan accordingly. The only change, so far, this year is with the Senior Intersectional try out. In the past it was a one day event, held on one of two days, at set times, that you could play. This year, as with the Men’s Intersectional try outs, they will happen over five days (the same five days). You can play at any time on those selected days, with other Club Members who are attempting to make one or both of the Intersectional teams. Using the Stableford scoring system your two best rounds will be used, and yes you can play all five days. Please feel free to send me an email, if you have any questions. Cheers Ian Treherne
